New Year's Eve

Church this morning. Sang a couple of my favorite songs. And the message was on a passage that I have had on my mind a lot lately. That was cool.

Went to Stonefire for lunch. Jerm and Kim came down in time for church and are spending the night here and hanging out tomorrow. So there was a nice group of us that went to lunch. I know I might be digging myself a big hole, but I've never been a big fan of Stonefire. They have amazing breadsticks and fantastic BBQ sauce. But other then that, no big deal.

This afternoon I watched You've Got Mail. I don't know if I've ever seen it all the way through without interruption. Today was the day. Had a little cry fest right in the middle of it.

I gotta be honest. New Year's Eve is normally a pretty disappointing event to me. I always have visions of it being a super fun night with great junk food and great people. In years past my mom always had to work New Year's Eve and since that meant my mom would sleep a good part of the day my dad would normally just work on New Year's Day. This year my mom has the night off so my dad took tomorrow off. Sooooo.. Tonight it looks like that will actually happen. We are now watching That Thing You Do. I just made a huge bowl of banana pudding. And we will have a family night. We will watch movies, play games and eat banana pudding and fresh popcorn and whatever else.

Today is my friend Shannon's birthday. I will devote a blog specifically to her next time I write.

Went to Magic Mountain Today..

My friend Trisanna called me yesterday to say she had a free friend pass to Magic Mountain and wanted to know if I wanted to go today with some friends.
I thought it would be good for me to get out of the house and spend the day having fun.. riding roller coasters.. hanging out.. and all for free!
The hit of the day came at 7 o'clock this evening. We had time to wait in line for one last roller coaster and so we went for the big time. Tatsu. On this one, you sit down and then pull the harness over your head and that locks down your body but it also triggers harnesses for around your feet. .. so you are completely strapped down. Then when everyone is secured they pull your feet up and you stare straight at the ground. It was fun when that happened because once the feet get pulled up you are ready to 'fly' and everyone still waiting in line starts whooping.
So, it was scary! You go up and up and up and up and all the while you are staring straight down.. and placing all of your trust and all of your life into the grips of the harness that is holding you in. It was crazy. People would say either "That was so great." or "Never again, will I ride that." I would be one to say it was great.
Did you know it now costs $15.00 to park your car? A large soda is now $3.99. The souvenier bottle is $8.99 with 99 cent refills. I haven't been to Magic Mountain in 4 years. $15 to park a car?!! I hate that.

My Grandparents..

This is my Grandpa's sodapop. My grandparents faithfully eat at Carl's Jr. every week. They have made friends with every person employed at this particular Carl's, including the security guard. They enter, order their 2 hamburgers, large french fry, a water for my Grandma, and my Grandpa gets to bring in his 52 oz Gulf Breeze Florida cup and pay only for a refill with a senior discount. My grandpa then proceeds to down two cupfulls of Diet Coke and then refilling a third time as they leave. That is 156 oz.

My Grandparents love Carl's Jr.

Figuring This Thing Out...

These are my babies. Ok.. they aren't really mine. But I sure love them. And since I am just figuring out this whole blogger thing, I thought I would try my experiments while having something so cute to look at.

These girls are Adalanie and Alondra. They are foster girls to one of my most favorite families ever. . . The Coudsy Family. It's not the cutest of all baby pictures, but the expressions are hilarious to me. These girls are so sweet and so quick to laugh and they smile ALL the time. They are even to the point where Susan will put the phone to their ear and I will talk and they will coo back. They were born 2 months early (April 2006) and came to live with the Coudy's in June.

They each just got 2 teeth and are currently getting themselves into the crawl position. They are precious precious girls. I love them so much.

oh..P.S. (top pic)Alondra is on the left and Adalanie is on the right.

now i just have to figure out how to post pictures...
